Praying For The Man You Love | Day 3: Strength

Dear Lord,

I thank you for his strength: the ability to hold up under great pressures, to keep pressing on, and to face challenges in Your name, keeping patience at praise near at hand. That type of strength comes from none other than You.

You are the well we draw life from. Without you, I know his strength would run out. Thank you for a man who knows where his strength comes from, who keeps close to you. Father, may he not forget it. Be near him, fill him with your spirit.

He can do all things through You. Whether that is keep the faith in times of doubt, keep running when his physical strength is gone, or do the seemingly impossible, I know you will go before him and surround him and meet his simplest and most complex need. You are able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than what he can ask for or imagine.

When his strength seems to be gone, you will renew it. As he puts his hope in you, you lift him up. You will refresh him, and you will make him soar on wings like eagles. He can do great things without growing weary because it is not in his own strength that he does them, but by Yours.

Help him remember that all He needs is in you and that you withhold no good thing from those who ask with a true heart. Lord, fight his fights. Be his champion. Fill him to overflowing. And above all, please bless him with the ability to see all you do and give you the glory and praise.

In Jesus’ Name, praise you for these promises! Amen.

“Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall…” ~ Isaiah 40:30
This is the verse right before the one that says, “Soar on wings like eagles.” We need to find our strength in our Lord, not others or ourselves, for we are weak. Only in God’s strength can we soar.

    • Love those verses, because they speak so much to the reality of life. Reminders that we will inevitably stumble and fall (so we shouldn’t hold our men up to impossible standards) but the beautiful hope in the fact that God picks us back up and gives us what we need to get on the right path again. Remembering that we triumph through Him and not by ourselves.
